New papers by FLIP team!

Two new papers authored by FLIP team members were just released!

Christina Makkar’s paper, titled Science “Fails”: A Bank of Historical Examples for Learning From Failure in Science, was published on the CourseSource platform. This is a curated bank of examples and teaching tools to encourage and guide discussions about learning from failure. It also highlights systemic barriers to embracing failure and notes resources (time, funding, security, cultural capital) that facilitate second chances.

Mairi Cowan’s paper, titled Flexible assessment: some benefits and costs for students and instructors,” was published in Assessment & Evaluation in Higher Education. This paper explores benefits and costs of flexible assessment in a fourth-year history course.
